1. Reflections.
I would like everyone to send your Reflections for the following events, that you have attended:
1. Venture Reflection Camp 09 [V10 have yet to submit]
2. Gauntlet 09
3. Venture Cord Hike 09
4. Meerkat Resilience Training Camp 09
5. PLC Survivor Camp
The deadline would be the 8th January 2010, which is the 2nd week Friday. I think that there is plenty of time to complete all of them, so i would expect everyone to hand in on time. So please start doing it early, and dont give me lame excuses like no time. If you have a valid reason for not being able to meet the deadline, please give me a CALL and explain why.
2. Annual General Meeting 2010
Ngee Ann Wichita would be having its AGM on the 9th January 2010, Saturday. It would be held in the morning. Attire would be Full U with all badges sewn. More details will be given closer to the date. Attendance is compulsory.
3. Venture Meeting
We would also be having a short Venture Meeting after the AGM. Again, more details will be given closer to the date. Agenda will be released soon.
This year, we would need to have jobweek, hence please brainstorm on possible ways for us to earn $$ as a crew.
Also, please think of what we want to do for the month of January and February.
4. Night Cycling
On the same day as AGM, 9th Jan, there would be a Night Cycling organized by the scouts. We are invited to join them.
5. Personal Development
As previously mentioned there are 3 parts to this.
A. Scouting Bibliography
Like what the name implies, it is a scouting bibliography of all the scouting events that you have attended/conducted over the years.
B. Resume/CV for Job
Prepare a Curriculum Vita and a letter applying for a job. So what you would have to do would be to research the web on how a resume is written. Then, go and write a resume for your self, as if you would be applying for a job anyway.
C. PSA Documents
This part is relevant for those pursueing PSA, however it is open to the V10 too. You would have to prepare a CV and a letter introducing yourself and why you are interested in pursueing PSA. This part would actually help you to think through why you want the award, and would help you to prepare mentally, and prepare for the interview.
This task is compusory. The deadline would the end of January. However, if you can finish it by AGM, and it is deemed fit to pass the requirements by Meerkat, then you can actually get the badge during AGM.
6. Venture Shirt
We just received our Venture Polo T. That would be for formal events. We would also require one more for PT kit. Ren Wei already has some designs for the shirt. But he will pass it on to Jingyang to continue and finalise the design. (I know you are quite busy, but hopefully the design should be ready by end of January)
7. Venture File.
The Venture File should be ready by AGM. Tentatively it will include the Minutes of Meeting and Particulars. Hence, Ren Wei will send out a particulars template soon, so everyone should fill in their particulars, and email back to Justin (NOT Ren Wei) to compile. Ren Wei, please also print out the latest copy of the Venture Calendar and put it in the file, when its closer to the AGM. We will review this during our Venture Meeting after that.
8. Subject Matter Experts
For the SMEs, Terry will ask us to choose the subject we want to be expert in soon. In the Meanwhile, please go and think about a subject that you would like to be involved in. I hope that you will have a passion for that particular topic, and that you will do your best to complete the SME notes.
